The business-office risk
IMG Academy: $1.72M from unscreened tuition payors
The February 2026 IMG Academy settlement was not a screening-the-student problem. It was a screening-the-payor problem. The school accepted tuition from two parents on the OFAC SDN list — individuals whose names were publicly available. OFAC called it 'reckless disregard.' The fine landed on the institution, not the admissions office.
Six workflows, one compliance layer
Tuition payor screening
Parents, guardians, third-party payment agents, and guarantors — screened at enrollment, re-screened on a schedule you configure.
Sponsor and donor intake
Scholarship sponsors, embassy payers, corporate donors, and named-fund contributors screened before the payment posts.
Decision documentation
Every clear, hold, escalate, and reject decision is captured with reviewer identity, timestamp, note field, and the matched list context.
Licensing path
On Plus and Enterprise, a flagged payor triggers the licensing engine — General License check, Specific License draft, expiration tracking.
Evidence packs
Self-contained PDF + CSV bundles per decision. Exportable on demand for audit, counsel, or board reporting.
Continuous monitoring
Previously cleared payors are re-screened against list changes. New designations surface as retroactive alerts before the next billing cycle.
Licensing preserves revenue
A flag isn't the end of the relationship
The licensing engine (Plus and Enterprise) turns a screening hit into a documented review of authorized paths. For international tuition, a single preserved relationship can cover the cost of the platform several times over — but the bigger value is the defensible decision trail when OFAC or your auditor asks what happened.
